Week of September 21, 2015

11th Academic English
On Tuesday you will take a test on Sentence Analysis.  Make sure you study your notes and worksheets to prepare for this test.  After the test we will begin work with Clauses and Sentence Classification.  Near the end of the week we'll put these grammar reviews into use by practicing editing and revising skills.

12th Academic English
This week we'll continue our look at the Anglo-Saxon epic poem Beowulf.  We'll continue our class discussions of this work, learning about Anglo-Saxon cultural values and traditions.  At the end of the week you will take a test on Beowulf then begin work on a project centered on this literary piece.

Theatre Production
This week we'll continue to look at costuming and how it helps to tell the story in musical theatre.  You'll continue to watch the film version of the musical My Fair Lady, noting how costumes are used to define the social classes of the characters, and how costumes are used to non-verbally depict Eliza's transformation from flower girl to royalty.
