Week of April 30, 2018
11th Academic English
This week we will finish viewing the film Of Mice and Men.  We will discuss similarities and differences you found between the novel we read in class and the film we viewed.  Later in the week we will begin a project focused on short stories written by F. Scott Fitzgerald.  His writings reflect American society during the 1920's, the Jazz Age.  I'll explain the project to you and distribute a collection of short stories by Fitzgerald, Jazz Age Stories, midweek.  On Thursday you will turn in reading response #15, will take vocabulary quiz #15 and will work on vocabulary list #16.  Make sure you have list #15 ready to review on Tuesday.

12th Academic English
This week we will finish our look at British Victorian literature.  You will take a unit test on this period either Tuesday or Wednesday.  We will begin a study of British literature from the Modern and Postmodern periods on Wednesday. On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #15 and will work on vocabulary list #16.

SAT Prep
On Monday we will check your work from chapter 15, then will begin work on chapter 16.  Later in the week we will begin work with chapter 17.  Make sure you map each of the reading sections you encounter in all of these chapters.  Mapping is probably the most important strategy used on the SAT Reading Exam!
