Week of April 3, 2017
11th English
This week we will continue to view a film version of Hamlet.  On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz 13 and will work on vocabulary list 14.  Your news article will be due on Thursday also.  Make sure your work is great since the vocabulary quiz and the news article will be the first grades for the fourth quarter!

11th Academic English
This week we will continue to view a film version of Hamlet.  On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz 13 and will work on vocabulary list 14.  Reading Response 13 is also due on Thursday.  Later in the week we will begin a project using the writings of F. Scott Fitzgerald.

12th Academic English
On Monday we will discuss your work with the poem selections from the Romantic Period, then will begin work with a selection from the novel Frankenstein, pp. 584-596. Midweek we will begin looking at "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz 13 and will work on vocabulary list 14.

Week of March 27, 2017
11th English
On Monday you will take the Hamlet Act IV quiz, then we will continue work with Act V of this tragedy.  Later in the week you will take a quiz on Act V and the Final Test on Hamlet.  Once we complete this work we will view a film version of this Shakespearean play.

11th Academic English
This week we will finish our study of Shakespeare's Hamlet.  When we finish our work with Act V you will take a quiz on this act then will complete the final test for this unit.  Later in the week we will view a film version of this Shakespearean play.

12th Academic English
This week we will continue our study of British Romantic Age literature.  We will read and discuss "Lines Composed A Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey," pp. 553-558, "The Prelude," pp. 5559-561 and "Ode to A Nightingale," pp. 569-573.  Look for elements that identify these poems as Romantic.

SAT Prep
This week we will finish up our practice and review for the Reading/Writing portion of the SAT exam.  We will review grammar, writing and structure information in chapters 23 and 24, then will review practice tests found in the workbook.  Later in the week we will review of summary of the information you studied this quarter.

Week of March 20, 2017
BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!!  Winter Storm/Blizzard Stella did a number on us but, just like true Spartans, we can handle it!!  This week we will readjust and get back on track to finish up the third quarter very successfully!
11th English
This week we will finish work with Act IV of Hamlet.  You will take a quiz near the end of the week on this act.  We will begin reviewing Act V of this tragedy and will plan to finish our work with Hamlet sometime next week.  Vocabulary quiz #12 has been moved to Thursday, so make sure you are ready to ace that quiz.  You can hand in news article 12 whenever you finish, but definitely give this to Mr. Lucas by Thursday.

11th Academic English
This week we will finish work with Act IV of Hamlet and will begin work with Act V of this play.  You will take a quiz on Act IV after we finish our discussion and will take a quiz on Act V early next week.  On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #12 and will begin work on vocabulary list #13.  You may hand in reading response #12 whenever you complete it, but definitely have it ready to turn in by Thursday.

12th Academic English
On Monday you will turn in two copies of your completed final draft of the research project.  We will begin work on Unit 5 of the literature series, found in the second volume of the literature workbook.  Please make sure you have that with you on Tuesday.  Later in the week, on Thursday, you will take vocabulary quiz #12 and will begin work on list #13.  Be sure to keep up with all work from here on!!  Finals and graduation aren't far away!!

SAT Prep
This week we'll work on Chapters 20 and 21 of the workbook, then will practice editing and revising skills using units 15 through 20 in the Editing and Revising workbook.

Week of March 13, 2017
11th English
This week we'll continue working with Hamlet.  Be prepared for a quiz after we finish Act IV.  Later in the week you'll take vocabulary quiz 12 and will turn in new article review 12, then will begin work on vocabulary list 13.

11th Academic English
We will continue our study of Shakespeare's Hamlet.  Be prepared for a quiz after we finish Act IV.  Later this week you will take vocabulary quiz 12, will turn in reading response 12 and will work on vocabulary list 13.

12th Academic English
I've extended the research project final draft deadline to Friday, March 17th.  Use your time wisely to perfect your final draft of this major research project.  We will review vocabulary list 13 later this week in preparation for a quiz on that list.  Be prepared!!

SAT Prep
This week we will review work you completed over the past week or so.  We will continue to work on chapters 20 and 21 in the workbook and will continue work in the editing and revising workbook also.

Week of March 6, 2017
11th English
This week we will discuss Acts III and IV of Hamlet.  Make sure you finish the study guides for each of these acts.  On Friday we will work on a news article review.  The review will be due early next week.

11th Academic English
This week you will take a quiz on Act III of Hamlet.  We will discuss Act IV and, after the discussion, you will take a quiz on that act also.  Later in the week you will begin work on Act V of this play.

12th Academic English
Monday we will continue conferencing about your plans for your research project.  On Wednesday you will turn in a correctly formatted Works Cited page.  Make sure you are drafting your final writing for this project as the Final Draft is due on Monday, March 13th.

SAT Prep
This week we will work on Chapters 20 and 21 in the SAT prep workbook.  You will also continue your revising and editing practice by completing units 15 through 19 in that workbook.
