11th Academic English
On Monday we will continue to work on Sentence Classification. We will use the sentences you created to practice our classification skills. Don't forget that you should have 4 Simple, 4 Compound, 4 Complex and 4 Compound/Complex sentences created for Monday's class. Tuesday you will take the O Pioneers! Test we moved from last week. On Wednesday we will work on the next study guide for O Pioneers! During Thursday's shortened periods we will play Grammar Baseball. Have a great Christmas break!!!

Monday through Wednesday we will continue work on Acts IV and V of MacBeth. You will complete the study guides for each of those acts and we will discuss those acts in class. During Thursday's shortened periods we will play Grammar Baseball. Have a great Christmas break!!!

Week of December 13, 2010
11th Academic English
This week we will begin classifying sentences according to structure. On Monday, you will take notes during a powerpoint presentation on this information, then begin practicing clause identification and sentence classification. Tuesday and Wednesday, we will continue with this practice in preparation for a test. On Thursday and Friday we will work with the novel O Pioneers! in preparation for a Friday test on Parts One, Two and Three. The end of the quarter and midterm exams are closing in quickly! Make sure you stay on top of your work!!!

This week we will continue our work with MacBeth. We will discuss Acts II and III, and will take a quiz on both acts on Thursday. On Friday, you will have a test on Acts I, II and III. After the test, you will begin work on Act IV, reading, taking notes and completing the Act IV study guide. The end of the quarter and midterm exams are closing in quickly!! Make sure you stay on top of your work!

On Tuesday, you will take a test on Sentence Analysis and will outline information on Independent and Subordinate Clauses, p. 70+ in your grammar text. On Wednesday we will practice identifying clauses in sentences. On Thursday you will take Vocabulary Quiz #7 and will turn in Newsweek Summary #7. On Friday, you will take a quiz on the Part One Study Guide for O Pioneers!

On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #7 and will turn in Newsweek Summary #7. On Friday, you will take the Act II Quiz for MacBeth.
