Week of May 1, 2017
11th English
This week you will begin working with study packets.  Both Mr. Jacavage and I will be giving you work to complete independently during class time.  Of course, you can ask questions or get things clarified whenever you want.  The work will focus on reviews of reading and writing skills, and will also focus on editing and revising knowledge.  This work will be graded regularly and you will be completing this work at your own pace.  On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #15 and will work on vocabulary list #16.  Don't forget to turn in news article #15 by Tuesday.

11th Academic English
This week we will continue our look at American short stories from the Modern and Postmodern Periods in preparation for a test on this material next week.  On Thursday you will turn in reading response #15 and will take vocabulary quiz #15, then will work on vocabulary list #16.

12th Academic English
On Tuesday you will take a test on the Victorian Period.  This week we will begin our last literature unit focused on the Modern/Postmodern Period of British literature.  On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #15 and will work on vocabulary list #16, the last vocabulary list of the school year.  Final exams and Graduation are just around the corner, so make sure you stay on top of all the work you must complete in the next few weeks.

Week of April 24, 2017
11th English
This week we will begin to take a look at the American Short Story, unit 6 in your literature workbook.  We will discuss short story structure and also will discuss the effects events in the nation have on American writers.  On Wednesday you will take a test on editing and revising.  Make sure you bring the second volume of your literature workbook with you to class this week.

11th Academic English
Your Jazz Age project is due on Wednesday at the start of class.  This week we will begin work on unit 6 of the literature series, the American Short Story.  We will discuss the effects of events from the Modern and Postmodern on American literature from those periods.  Make sure you bring the second volume of your literature workbook with you to class this week.

12th Academic English
This week we will begin a study of the literature from the British Victorian Age.  You will take notes during a power point discussion of this period, then will work on literary selections from this period.  Make sure you take good notes and concentrate.  Graduation is quickly approaching!!

Week of April 17, 2017
11th English
This week we will continue working with the Editing and Revising workbook.  You'll continue to practice your editing and revising skills in preparation for a test.  On Tuesday we will review vocabulary list #14 and on Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #14.  After the quiz you will work on vocabulary list #15.  Later in the week, after the editing and revising test, you will work on news article #14.

11th Academic English
This week you will continue working on the Jazz Age Project.  This project, worth a test grade, will be due early next week.  On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #14, will turn in reading response #14, and will begin work on vocabulary list #15.

12th Academic English
This week we will wrap up our look at The British Romantic Movement.  On Monday you will finish up your work with selections from Shelly's Frankenstein.  Tuesday you will work on a review guide in preparation for a test on Romanticism on Friday.  Wednesday we will discuss the Victorian Age in Britain.  You will take notes during a power point lecture on this period.  On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #14.  After the quiz you will work on vocabulary list #15.

Week of April 10, 2017
11th English
Early in the week you will finish your news article summary.  We will practice some editing and revising skills using  a workbook filled with short articles that need revision.  We will begin this activity by working together in class, but later in the week you will be working on your own.  Early next week you will be tested on these skills.

11th Academic English
You will be working on a project involving F. Scott Fitzgerald's Jazz Age Tales.  This short story project will be explained in class on Monday.  Make sure you use your time wisely to complete this major assignment.

12th Academic English
We will continue our look at British Romantic Age literature this week.  In addition to the poetry already studied, you will read a selection from Mary Shelley's novel, Frankenstein.  Later in the week you will work on a list of review questions in preparation for a test on the Romantic Age.
