Week of May 25, 2015
11th Academic English
Time to take your final exams and become the next leaders of our school!!  Make sure you study for our final.  Refer to the handouts I gave you last week to prepare for your exam.  End your junior year with a bang and get the best possible grade you can earn on the final.  Be sure to have your books with you on the scheduled day of your final exam.

12th Academic English
Congratulations seniors!!  At the end of this week we'll turn you loose on the world, ready to do great things and accomplish your goals!  You should be very proud of your academic accomplishments.  It has been my pleasure to work with you in our class this year.  Be sure to keep in touch.  Happy Graduation!!

Week of May 18, 2015
11th Academic English
This week we will wrap up our study of Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men.  On Monday you will take the quiz on the second study guide for this novel.  On Tuesday you will take the test for this novel.  We will discuss information that you will need to review for your final exam, then will begin watching the film adaptation of this novel.  You are almost seniors, guys and girls, so make sure you keep up your great work!!

12th Academic English
This is it, seniors, FINALS WEEK!  You've worked hard to get to this point, so make sure you keep your head in the game!  Study for final exams and enjoy the fruits of your labors!  Graduation is almost here!

Week of May 11, 2015
11th Academic English
This week we will continue or study of John Steinbeck's classic, Of Mice and Men.  You will take a quiz on the first study guide you were given and will begin work on the second study guide for this novel.  We'll discuss how life in America was reflected in this novel.  On Thursday you will take the final vocabulary quiz of the year, vocabulary quiz #16, and will turn in reading response #15.  Things are starting to wrap up for the school year, so make sure you keep up with the work!!  Soon you'll be SENIORS!

12th Academic English
This week we will finish up our literary studies by reading and discussing together three short stories--"The First Year of My Life" (pp. 1164-70), "The Rocking Horse Winner" (pp. 1174-89), and "A Shocking Accident" (pp. 1190-94).  On Thursday you will take the last vocabulary quiz of the year, vocabulary quiz #16.  On Friday you will take a test on the Modern/Postmodern Periods in British literature, then will begin the review for Final Exams.  Finals begin next week, so make sure you keep up with everything that needs to get done before you take your exams.  Graduation is just around the corner!!!!

Week of May 4, 2015
11th Academic English
This week we will finish up our look at short stories from the American Modern/Postmodern Periods.  On Tuesday you will take a unit test, then begin work with Steinbeck's classic novel, Of Mice and Men.  We will continue our work on this novel through the next two weeks.  On Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #15, will turn in reading response #14, and will work on vocabulary list #16.  The end of the school year is fast approaching, so make sure you keep up with your work!

12th Academic English
This week we will continue our look at British literature from the Modern/Postmodern Periods.  On Monday we will discuss "The Lady In The Looking Glass; A Reflection," pp. 1156-1163.  Tuesday we will read together and discuss "The Frist year of My Life," pp. 1164-1170.  Your Character Analysis Project is due on Wednesday at the start of class.  Thursday you will take vocabulary quiz #15 and will work on vocabulary list #16.  On Friday we will begin work with "The Rocking Horse Winner," pp. 1174-1189.  Senior Final Exams are right around the corner, so make sure you keep up with your work during these last two weeks of class.  Graduation is almost here!!!
