Week of March 31, 2014
11th Academic English
This week we'll begin our study of American literature from the Modern Period.  We will read and discuss F. Scott Fitzgerald's  "Winter Dreams" pp. 742-762 and John Steinbeck's "The Turtle," pp. 766-770.  On Thursday of this week you will take a test on Revising and Editing work.

12th Academic English
This week we'll continue our look at Romantic Age literature.  We will finish reading and discussing the selections from last week and will begin work on "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," pp. 686-709.  Be prepared for a test on the Romantic Age sometime next week.

Week of March 24, 2014
11th Academic English
On Monday we'll check corrections to the sentence classification test you took last week.  We'll review the answers for each of the 50 sentences and clarify any questions you may have.  Tuesday we'll go over Vocabulary List #13 and its review sheet, then continue work in the Revising and Editing workbooks.  Wednesday you'll work on the next reading response that will be due on Friday.  On Thursday you will take Vocabulary Quiz #13, work on Vocabulary List #14 and complete its review sheet.

12th Academic English
This week we'll continue our look at the literature from the British Romantic Period.  We'll discuss Mary Shelley's "Introduction to Frankenstein," p. 650, "The Oval Portrait," p. 658 and "Lines Composed A Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey," p. 666.  Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #13, work on Vocabulary List #14 and complete its review sheet.

Week of March 17, 2014
11th Academic English
We'll continue our work with grammar this week.  On Monday we'll review the Sentence Classification worksheet you completed last week.  Tuesday we'll make corrections to the first test on Sentence Classification.  Wednesday you'll take another test on Sentence Classification.  Thursday and Friday we'll work with the Revising and Editing workbooks.

12th Academic English
Congratulations!!! The Research Unit is over!!!  On Monday you'll turn in the final copies of your research project.  Tuesday and through the rest of the week we'll look at English literature from the Romantic Period.

Week of March 10, 2014
11th Academic English
We'll continue our work with Sentence Classification this week.  You'll be given another sentence worksheet and will be asked to find the Independent and Subordinate Clauses in each sentence, then will be asked to classify the sentences as either simple, compound, complex, or compound/complex. We'll review your answers together in class. On Thursday you'll take Vocabulary Quiz #12, and will work on Vocabulary List #13 and its review sheet.

12th Academic English
We're coming down to the wire on the Research Writing Project.  You'll continue writing, editing and revising your position paper throughout the week.  On Tuesday you'll hand in your Works Cited page.  Thursday, you'll take Vocabulary Quiz #12.  Don't forget -- your Research Project is due at the start on class on Monday, March 17th!!!
