Week of May 26th
11th Academic English
Your Final Exam takes place on Tuesday, May 26th! We will finish watching the film version of the Steinbeck novel, Of Mice and Men this week. When we finish the film, we will wrap up the year with a rousing game or two of GRAMMAR BASEBALL!!!!!! You all worked very hard this year! Be sure to enjoy the summer break and come back ready to make your senior year a fantastic year!

Week of May 18th
11th Academic English
This week we will finish our study of Steinbeck's novel, Of Mice and Men. We will take a quiz on the second study guide on Tuesday, and will take the final test on the novel on Wednesday. After the test, we will review the information that will be on the Final Exam for this course, then we will begin watching the film version of Of Mice and Men. Your final Newsweek Summary is due on Thursday. The Final Exam for this course takes place on Tuesday, May 26th, the day we return after Memorial Day.

12th Academic English
The end of your 12th Academic English career is here! Final exams for seniors will be given this week. PLEASE make sure you are well-prepared for your exam. For some of you, your grade on this exam can mean the difference between graduating and not graduating, so be smart and study for this exam. Check your calendars for the exam schedule.

Week of May 11th
11th Academic English
This week we will continue or study of Steinbeck's novel, Of Mice and Men. You should be prepared for a quiz on the study guide for chapters 1-3. On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #17, the final vocabulary quiz of the school year! Newsweek Summary #18 is also due on Thursday. The end of the year is coming fast and furious! Make sure you stay on top of your assignments.

12th Academic English
This week we will watch a film version of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #17, the final vocabulary quiz of the school year! Newsweek Summary #18 is also due on Thursday. Your final project on Frankenstein is due on Friday. Since many of you could use a good grade, make sure that you follow all directions for this project. Do not let things go until the last minute!! We will discuss the 12th Academic English final exam in class this week. Be sure to check your 4th quarter calendar for your exam date and prepare wisely.

Week of May 4th
11th Academic English
This week we will finish working with the short stories from the American Modern and Postmodern Period. On Tuesday, May 5th, you will take a test on all of the information from The Modern and Postmodern Period. Wednesday, we will begin studying John Steinbeck's novel Of Mice and Men. You will work on the first study guide for this novel as you read. Remember to consult your 4th quarter calendar regularly so you are prepared for all of the work we will finish by the end of the school year.

12th Academic English
The end of your high school career is in sight!! This week we will finish our work with the British Modern/Postmodern Period literature. You will take a test on all of this information on Thursday, May 7th. On Friday you will continue your work on the Frankenstein project, preparing your material for final submission on Friday, May 15th. Make sure you stay on top of the work needed to complete this course. Some of you are behind schedule and will have a difficult time with the remainder of the year if you lag behind. Consult your 4th quarter calendar for due dates, etc.
