Week of October, 1 2018
SAT Prep
This week you will continue to work in our book, reviewing and practicing strategies that will help you succeed on the SAT. Remember to pace yourself, trying to complete two chapters a week. Always ask for help if you don't understand something! We will also be meeting individually with each student to monitor and ask about progress.
11th Academic English
Monday you will have a mini quiz on Clauses. The rest of the week we will continue to work on clauses and the classification of sentences. We will also work on Reading Response 3 this week.
12th Academic English
We will continue to learn about Arthurian Literature and start reading "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight." We will also work on Reading Response 3 this week.
12th Academic Honors
We will continue to learn about Arthurian Literature and start reading "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight." We will also work on Reading Response 3 this week. Remember your response essay to "The Red Badge of Courage" and "Beowulf" is due Friday.

Week of September 24, 2018
Sat Prep

11th Academic English
This week we will begin learning about the Classification of Sentences. We will work on worksheets and complete practice problems from the grammar book in class. Tuesday we will go over vocabulary. Thursday is the Vocabulary 2 test and your Reading Response 2 is due.
12th Academic English
This week we will finish up our Beowulf group projects and briefly present them to the class. Tuesday we will go over vocabulary. Thursday is the Vocabulary 2 test and your Reading Response 2 is due. At the end of the week we will begin to learn about Arthurian Literature.
12th Honors English
This week we will finish up our Beowulf group projects and briefly present them to the class. Tuesday we will go over vocabulary and discuss "The Red Badge of Courage". Thursday is the Vocabulary 2 test and your Reading Response is due. At the end of the week we will begin to learn about Arthurian Literature.

This week you will continue to review the Parts of Speech. We will check your answers for the worksheets completed in class in order to prepare for the test, which will be sometime this week. Later in the week we will begin learning about Clauses and types of sentences.
12th Academic English
This week we will continue the study of Beowulf and the concept of what makes a hero? You will also be working with your groups to organize and plan your project, which is due September 26.
12th Honors English
This week we will finish our study of Beowulf, and prepare for the test, which will be sometime this week. You will also be working with your groups to organize and plan your project, which is due September 26. Lastly, continue reading "The Red Badge of Courage," and think about the essential question, "What makes a hero?"
