Week of April 27th
11th Academic English
This week we will continue studying the literature from the American Modern and Postmodern periods by reading and discussing "In Another Country" pp. 806-814 and "The Night The Ghost Got In" pp. 896-902. On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #16 and will work on Vocabulary List #17 and its review sheet. Newsweek Summary #17 is also due on Thursday. Keep up your good work in class as we are almost finished with this school year!

12th Academic English
This week we will continue our analysis of the literature from the British Modern and Postmodern periods by reading and discussing "The Fiddle" pp. 1076-1084, and "The Lady In The Looking Glass" pp. 1156-1163. On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #16 and will work on Vocabulary List #17 and its review sheet. Newsweek Summary #17 is also due on Thursday. You should have finished reading Frankenstein and should be working on the Character Analysis project given to you for this novel. Don't procrastinate as your school year is quickly coming to an end!

Week of April 20th
11th Academic English
This week we will begin studying and analyzing American Literature from the Modern and Post-modern periods. We will read and outline biography information on F. Scott Fitzgerald, John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemingway, and will read "Winter Dreams," "The Turtle," and "In Another Country" from your literature anthology. Make sure you keep up with your work and follow the 4th quarter calendar since we're nearing the end of the school term.

12th Academic English
This week we will continue studying and analyzing the Literature from the British Modern and Post-modern periods. You should have detailed notes from the introductory section on pages 950-960. We will read and analyze the short story "The Demon Lover" on pp. 1030-1038. On Friday you should finish reading the novel Frankenstein and should finish the study guide for this novel. We will begin work on the Frankenstein project next week. Be sure to keep up with the 4th quarter calendar given to you in class, as the end of the school term is quickly approaching for you seniors.

11th Academic English
We will continue viewing the film Hamlet, noting similarities and differences between the play read in class and the film viewed in class. On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #15 and complete Vocabulary List #16 and its review sheet. Newsweek Summary #16 is also due on Thursday. Friday we will begin work with classic Modern American Literature. Be sure to bring your literature anthology with you to class.

12th Academic English
We will finish our study of Victorian Literature by reading a selection from the novel, Jane Eyre. On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #15, and will complete Vocabulary List #16 and its review sheet. Newsweek Summary #16 is also due on Thursday. On Friday, you will take a test on the Victorian Period.

Week of April 6th
11th Academic English
On Monday we will take a test on the Shakespearean drama Hamlet. Tuesday, we will begin watching the dvd version of this play. You will note similarities and differences between the play you read in class and the movie version of this work. Enjoy your well-deserved Easter break!

12th Academic English
This week we will begin analyzing the literature of the Victorian Period by reading selected poetry of Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning found in your literature anthology. We will also begin work with a selection from the Victorian novel, Jane Eyre. Make sure you are referring to the 4th quarter calendar given to you in class to prepare for each day. Enjoy your well-deserved Easter break!
