Week of September 20, 2010
11th Academic English
This week we will continue our studies of the Early American Explorer/Settler personal narratives by reading, outlining and discussing "The General History of Virginia," p. 70 and "Of Plymouth Plantation,"p. 78. You also will take a brief quiz on each of these selections. On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #2 and will work with vocabulary list #3 and its review sheet. Don't forget that Newsweek Summary #2 is due on Thursday also. Be sure to keep up with all class work and homework.

12th Academic English
This week we will continue our work with early Anglo-Saxon epic poetry. We will read, outline and discuss selections from Beowulf (pp. 39-45 and 46-60). On Thursday, you will take Vocabulary Quiz #2 and will work with vocabulary list #3 and its review sheets. Don't forget that Newsweek Summary #2 is due on Thursday also. Make sure you are taking good notes when outlining and discussing Beowulf as you will have a test on this material next Monday, September 27th!
