Week of September 13th
11th Academic English
This week we will wrap up our studies of early Native American Creation/Origin stories. On Monday we will compare and contrast the three origin stories we read in class. On Tuesday and Wednesday you will work on creating your own origin story in the style of the Native Americans. The final draft of this writing will be due on Friday. On Thursday and into Friday we will begin our studies of Early American Explorers/Settlers personal narratives by reading, outlining and discussing "Journal of the First Voyage to America" by Christopher Columbus.

12th Academic English
This week we will continue our studies of the Anglo-Saxons and their literature. We will compare and contrast the three Anglo-Saxon exile poems we read in class. On Tuesday, you will begin work on your own exile story. The final draft of that work will be due on Friday. On Wednesday you will have a TEST on all of the introductory notes and class notes on the Anglo-Saxons and their literature. On Thursday and through Friday, we will begin our studies of the epic poem, Beowulf.
