11th Academic English
This week we'll continue our study of Arthur Miller's The Crucible.  You will finish the Act One study guide and will be quizzed on that later in the week.  We'll discuss McCarthyism and its role in the creation of this play, the atmosphere in 1692 Salem, and the personality traits of some of the main characters.  We'll also begin to work with a plot diagram to help you analyze this play.  Be sure to take good notes during class discussions!

12th Academic English
On Monday, you will have time to work on the Beowulf project.  This project is due at the start of class on October 7th.  Tuesday we'll discuss Elizabethan England and its influence on Shakespeare's works.  We'll begin work with Shakespeare's MacBeth, reading together and discussing Act One of this work.  Make sure you are accurately completing the study guide for Act One.  Take good notes and ask questions during class discussions!
