Week of September 13, 2013
11th Academic English
This week we'll continue our study of the narrative accounts of early American settlers.  You will read and take notes on a selection from "The General History of Virginia," pp. 72-77 and on a selection from "Of Plymouth Plantation," pp. 78-84.  This is difficult reading, so you will need to take your time with both selections.  We will discuss both selections in class and you'll be able to add to or clarify your notes at that time.  Later in the week, you will take a test on all of the information about Native American Literature and Early American Literature.  Don't forget this week is Homecoming Spirit Week 2013!!  Have fun and participate as much as possible!

12th Academic English
This week we will continue our study of the epic poem, Beowulf.  You will read independently and take notes as indicated on your course calendars.  We will work together on selections from and discuss the poem in class.  On Monday, September 23rd, you will take a test on Beowulf and will begin work on the Beowulf project.  Don't forget --  this week is Homecoming Spirit Week 2013!!  This is your last Spirit Week as a high school student, so make the most of all the activities and fun planned for the week!!
